The short version

A plain-English summary of the parts members ask about most. It is a guide, not a substitute for the full Terms below.

Marketing is part of these Terms
Creating an account opts you in to TasteVue marketing. Collecting a stamp with a restaurant lets that restaurant reach you too. Read section 5.
Only restaurants you have stamped with
Never the whole platform. Stamping with one restaurant tells no other restaurant anything about you.
What a restaurant gets
Your name, email address and age band, plus your activity at that restaurant — to market its own business and nothing else. Never your phone number, and never your activity anywhere else. See the full list.
You can switch it off in two taps
Settings → Marketing & Preferences, separately for TasteVue and for each restaurant. Every marketing email also has an unsubscribe link.
Switching it off costs you nothing
Your stamps, rewards, points and membership are unaffected. You will still get service messages about your account.
Points have no cash value
They cannot be exchanged for money or transferred, and unredeemed stamps and points are forfeited if your account closes.

01Agreement to these Terms

We are TASTEVUE LLP ("TasteVue", "we", "us", "our"), a limited liability partnership registered in Singapore at 30 Raffles Place, BNI Tower, Singapore 048622.

We operate the website tastevue.com (the "Site"), the TasteVue mobile application (the "App"), and any other related products and services that link to these terms (together, the "Services").

These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and TASTEVUE LLP covering your access to and use of the Services. By creating an account, or by otherwise using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to them. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.

Section 5, Marketing communications and your choices, sets out permissions you give us and participating restaurants by creating an account and by collecting stamps. Please read it. You can change those permissions at any time in the App.

We may change these Terms. When we do, we update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where the change materially affects what you have permitted, we will also tell you in the App and ask you to acknowledge the update before you carry on. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the revised Terms.

You must be at least 18 to hold an account in your own right. If you are under 18, you may use the Services only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian, who must read and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

02What TasteVue does

TasteVue is a food discovery and loyalty platform for diners in Singapore. Depending on the features available to you, the Services let you:

  • find places to eat, including through CraveMatch and curated lists;
  • collect digital stamps on a restaurant's stamp card when a member of staff scans or keys your visit at the counter;
  • earn TasteVue points for qualifying activity and progress through tiers;
  • complete quests and claim rewards, perks and vouchers;
  • invite friends with a referral code and earn points when they join;
  • keep a food diary of what you have eaten, publish reviews, and appear on leaderboards;

Features are added, changed and withdrawn over time, and not every feature is available to every member or at every restaurant. Nothing in these Terms promises that a particular feature, restaurant or reward will remain available.

The Services are intended for use in Singapore. If you access them from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and you are responsible for complying with your local law.

03Your account

You need an account to collect stamps, earn points and claim rewards. You can register with an email address and password, or sign in with Apple or Google. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the basic profile information those providers give us, as described in our Privacy Policy.

By creating an account you represent that:

  • the information you give us is accurate, current and complete, and you will keep it that way;
  • you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms and will comply with them;
  • the account is for you personally — one person, one account. Accounts are not transferable and may not be sold, shared or operated on behalf of someone else;
  • you will not use the Services for any unlawful or unauthorised purpose.

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at admin@tastevue.com as soon as you suspect unauthorised use.

We may refuse, suspend or close an account, and reclaim a username, where we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken or the account is being used to abuse the loyalty programme.

04Stamp cards, points and rewards

Stamp cards

A stamp card belongs to a restaurant brand, not to a single outlet. If a brand runs several outlets, a stamp collected at any of them goes on the same card. A stamp is added when a member of staff scans or keys your visit at the counter — you cannot add one yourself.

Each brand sets how many stamps make a full card and which rewards you unlock along the way. A reward can come at any stage of the card, not only at the end, and what you get, and when, differs from restaurant to restaurant. When you reach a reward it is added to your account in the App, and the restaurant's staff apply it when you show your code at the counter.

A full card starts again from stamp 1. Stamps do not expire while the brand's programme is running. A minimum interval applies between stamps on the same card, so a single transaction cannot fill a card. If a stamp does not appear, speak to the restaurant at the time; we can only investigate against the record of the visit.

Points, tiers and rewards

Points are awarded for qualifying activity in the App. Points and tiers belong to your TasteVue account across the whole platform, not to any one restaurant.

Points have no cash value. They are not property, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be sold or transferred between accounts. What a given number of points will get you is shown in the App at the time you redeem, and can change.

Rewards and vouchers are subject to availability and to any terms the issuing restaurant or reward partner attaches to them, including expiry dates and conditions of use. Those terms are shown to you before you claim.

Corrections and misuse

We may reverse or adjust stamps, points, tiers and rewards that were awarded in error, awarded for a transaction that was later cancelled or refunded, or obtained through fraud, manipulation or any breach of these Terms. Where we do, we will show the correction in your activity history.

If a restaurant leaves or pauses its programme

A brand can pause or end its stamp programme. While it is paused you cannot collect stamps with it. If it ends, you can no longer collect stamps on that brand's card, and progress towards a reward you have not yet reached ends with it. Rewards you have already earned from that brand stay redeemable for 30 days after its programme ends, as long as the restaurant is still operating. Your TasteVue points and tier are not affected. We will give you notice where we reasonably can.

Referrals

You can invite friends with your referral code. Where a referral qualifies, points are credited to you and to your friend on the terms shown in the app at the time — typically once your friend has collected their second stamp. Referral points are ordinary TasteVue points and everything above applies to them.

Referring yourself, creating accounts in order to refer them, using someone else's identity, or otherwise generating referral points without genuinely introducing a new member, breaches these Terms. We may withhold or reverse referral points and close the accounts involved, and we are not obliged to explain a decision in detail where doing so would help someone game the programme.

Reveals and prize mechanics

Some rewards are presented as a scratch card or similar reveal. The reveal is presentation only: what you have won is decided by us before it is shown to you, and nothing about how you scratch, tap or play changes it. There is no wager, no stake and no element of chance you can influence, and nothing in the Services requires a purchase to receive a reward.

Stamps, points and rewards are a benefit of membership, not a debt we owe you. If your account is closed, any unredeemed stamps, points and rewards are forfeited.

05Marketing communications and your choices

In short

Creating an account opts you in to marketing from TasteVue. Collecting a stamp with a restaurant lets that restaurant reach you too, and may give it your name, email address and age band — that restaurant only, never the whole platform, and never your phone number. You can switch any of it off at any time in Settings → Marketing & Preferences, and doing so never affects your stamps, rewards or membership.

Creating an account opts you in to TasteVue marketing

By creating an account you accept these Terms, and in accepting them you agree that TasteVue may send you marketing: rewards, member offers, promotions, invitations and news about the App. This permission is part of these Terms rather than a separate tick box, so we record which version of these Terms you accepted and when, against your account.

Collecting a stamp lets that restaurant reach you

The first time you collect a stamp with a restaurant brand, you join that brand's stamp card, and that brand may send you marketing about itself — its offers, promotions and news. The permission begins with your first stamp with that brand and covers that brand only.

Which restaurants

Only the restaurants you have actually collected a stamp with. Stamping with one restaurant never gives another restaurant permission to contact you. Restaurants on TasteVue that you have not stamped with cannot market to you, and we do not make you available to the platform as a whole. A brand with several outlets counts as one restaurant: a stamp at any of its outlets covers that brand, and nothing beyond it.

What a restaurant receives about you

A restaurant you have collected a stamp with may receive your name, email address and age band, together with a record of your activity at that restaurant, and may use them to send you marketing about itself. Some of that marketing is sent by TasteVue on the restaurant's behalf; a restaurant may also contact you directly using the details above.

The full picture:

What it may receive

  • The name on your TasteVue profile
  • Your email address
  • Your age band
  • Your visits to that restaurant, and when they were
  • Which of its outlets you visited
  • Bill amounts keyed at its counter
  • Points and stamps it has awarded you
  • Your progress on its stamp card, and cards completed
  • Rewards of its own you have available
  • Your TasteVue tier at your most recent visit there

What it never receives

  • Your phone number
  • Your exact age or date of birth
  • Your password or account credentials
  • Your payment or card details
  • Your location
  • Your food diary entries and private activity
  • Anything about your visits to any other restaurant
  • Your TasteVue points balance

A restaurant receives this only for the brand whose stamp you hold, and only to run its own loyalty programme and market its own business. Our agreement with every participating restaurant requires it to keep your details confidential, use them for nothing else, never sell or pass them on, honour an opt-out, and tell us of any breach. If a restaurant misuses your details, tell us at admin@tastevue.com and we will act on it.

A restaurant you have never stamped with receives nothing about you at all, whether or not it is listed on TasteVue.

How we reach you

Marketing reaches you by email and by push notification. We do not send marketing by SMS. You can turn push notifications off entirely in your device settings at any time, separately from the choices below.

How to turn it off

  • In the App: Settings → Marketing & Preferences. TasteVue and each restaurant have their own switch. Turning TasteVue off says nothing about any restaurant, and turning one restaurant off does not touch the others.
  • In any marketing email: the unsubscribe link at the bottom.
  • By email: write to admin@tastevue.com.

We act on a change as soon as we receive it, and we pass a restaurant opt-out on to that restaurant, which is required to honour it. A message already on its way when you switch off may still reach you, and a restaurant that already holds your details may take a short time to process the withdrawal on its own systems.

What turning it off does not affect

Turning marketing off never affects your stamps, stamp cards, points, tier, rewards or membership. Those are earned and stay earned. It only changes whether you hear about offers.

You will still receive service messages, because they are not marketing and you are owed them: a reward waiting to be collected, a points or stamp correction, security and password notices, changes to these Terms, product updates such as a new restaurant partner joining TasteVue, and anything else about your account or a transaction.

Our record of your choices

We keep a record of each marketing decision on your account — what changed, for TasteVue or for which restaurant, when, and whether it came from your accepting these Terms or from a switch you moved yourself. That record is what lets either of us check later what was actually agreed.

If this section changes

If we materially change what this section permits, we will tell you in the App and ask you to acknowledge the updated Terms. Acknowledging an update does not switch marketing back on: if you have turned something off, it stays off.

06Your content and contributions

The Services let you post content — diary entries, photos, reviews, ratings and comments ("Contributions"). You keep ownership of your Contributions.

By posting a Contribution you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate and display it in connection with operating and promoting the Services, for as long as you keep it posted and for a reasonable period afterwards to allow for backups and caches to clear.

You confirm that, for everything you post:

  • you created it or have the rights to post it, and it infringes no one's rights;
  • it is not false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, obscene, hateful or threatening;
  • it is not advertising, spam or a paid endorsement you have not disclosed;
  • it contains no one else's personal information posted without their consent;
  • it does not breach any law or any third party's terms.

Reviews

A review should reflect genuine, first-hand experience at the restaurant. Do not post a review of a business you own, work for or are connected with; do not post a review in exchange for payment; and do not organise or take part in coordinated reviewing to lift or damage a rating. We may remove reviews and Contributions, and suspend accounts, where these rules are broken — but we are not obliged to monitor or screen Contributions, and a review left up is not an endorsement by us.

What is public

Your display name and profile photo, the diary entries and reviews you publish, and your position on any leaderboard you appear in, are visible to other members — and, where a page is openly accessible, to anyone. Treat anything you post as public. You can delete a post at any time, though copies may persist for a while in caches and on other members' devices.

Feedback you send us

If you send us a question, comment, suggestion or idea about the Services, you agree we may use it freely, for any purpose, without acknowledgment or payment to you.

07Things you must not do

You may use the Services only for their intended purpose. You must not:

  • obtain stamps, points, rewards or vouchers other than through genuine qualifying activity, including by collusion with staff, duplicate or fake accounts, or by manipulating the counter scan;
  • sell, trade or transfer stamps, points, rewards, vouchers or accounts;
  • scrape, harvest or systematically collect data from the Services, or use any bot, scraper or automated tool on them;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Services, or attempt to bypass any security or rate limit;
  • upload viruses, or any material designed to interfere with the operation of the Services;
  • impersonate another person, misrepresent your affiliation, or use another member's account;
  • use the Services to harass, defraud or harm anyone, including restaurant staff;
  • use contact or profile information obtained through the Services to send unsolicited messages;
  • copy, adapt or create derivative works from the Services' software, or use them to build a competing product.

08Intellectual property

We own or license all intellectual property in the Services — the source code, databases, designs, text, graphics, audio and video (the "Content") — and the TasteVue trade marks, service marks and logos (the "Marks"). They are protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws.

Provided you comply with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Services and to download or print portions of the Content you have properly gained access to, for your own non-commercial use.

No other use is permitted. The Content and Marks may not be copied, republished, aggregated, uploaded, publicly displayed, translated, distributed, sold or licensed for any commercial purpose without our prior written permission — write to admin@tastevue.com to ask. We reserve all rights not expressly granted here, and a breach of this section ends your licence to use the Services immediately.

Mobile application licence

We grant you a revocable, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You must not decompile or reverse engineer the App, remove any proprietary notice from it, use it for any revenue-generating purpose, make it available over a network where multiple devices can use it at once, or use it to create a competing product.

Where you obtained the App from the Apple App Store or Google Play, you agree to that store's terms as well. You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo, or listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. The store operator is not responsible for the App or for providing support or handling warranty claims for it, but is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

09Restaurants, partners and third-party content

Restaurants listed on the Services are independent businesses. The food, service, pricing, hygiene and conduct of a restaurant are its responsibility, not ours, and listing a restaurant is not an endorsement of it. Any dispute over a meal, bill or a restaurant's honouring of a reward is between you and that restaurant, though we will help where we reasonably can.

Rewards and vouchers may be issued by reward partners and are subject to their own terms, which are shown to you before you claim.

The Services may link to other websites, apps and content we do not control, and may display advertising. We are not responsible for third-party sites or advertisers, their content, their products, or their privacy practices, and we do not investigate or monitor them. If you leave the Services for a third-party site, their terms and privacy policy apply, not ours.

If you link a social media account to the Services, your relationship with that provider is governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for their handling of your information.

10Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with and what rights you have under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act. It forms part of these Terms.

The Services are hosted and operated using infrastructure located outside Singapore. By using the Services you accept that your data will be transferred to and processed in those locations, under the protections described in the Privacy Policy.

We maintain routine backups and operational data about your use of the Services. You are responsible for any content you create, and while we take reasonable care of it, we are not liable for the loss or corruption of your data and you have no claim against us for it.

11Suspension and termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use the Services. We may, at our sole discretion and without notice or liability, deny access to the Services, suspend or close your account and delete any content you have posted, for any reason, including a breach of these Terms or of any applicable law.

If we close your account, you must not create a new one under your own name, a false name, or the name of any third party.

You can close your account at any time from the App or by writing to admin@tastevue.com. Unredeemed stamps, points, rewards and vouchers are forfeited when an account closes, whoever closes it.

In addition to closing an account, we may pursue any legal remedy available to us, including civil, criminal and injunctive relief.

12Changes, interruptions and corrections

We may change, move or remove any part of the Services at any time, without notice. We are not obliged to keep any feature, content, restaurant or reward available, and we are not liable to you or anyone else for a change, price change, suspension or withdrawal.

We cannot guarantee the Services will always be available. Hardware, software or network problems, and maintenance we have to carry out, may interrupt them. You agree we are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by downtime, and nothing in these Terms obliges us to maintain or support the Services.

The Services may contain typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions, including in descriptions, pricing, availability and rewards. We may correct any error and change or update information at any time, without notice.

We reserve the right to monitor the Services for breaches of these Terms, to take appropriate legal action against anyone who breaches them, to refuse or limit access to any part of the Services, and to remove or disable files and content that are excessive in size or burdensome to our systems.

13Disclaimer

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, in connection with the Services and your use of them, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We make no warranty about the accuracy or completeness of the Services' content or of any content linked to them, and we accept no liability for errors or inaccuracies in content, for personal injury or property damage arising from your use of the Services, for unauthorised access to our servers or to personal information held on them, for interruption of transmission, or for bugs, viruses or malicious code transmitted through the Services by a third party.

We do not warrant, endorse or assume responsibility for any product or service advertised or offered by a third party through the Services, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and a third-party provider. As with any purchase, use your judgement and exercise caution.

14Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our partners, employees and agents will not be liable to you for any indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, special or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of the Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us, if any, in the six months before the event giving rise to the claim, or SGD 100.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

15Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold us and our partners, employees and agents harmless from any loss, damage, liability, claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by a third party because of or arising out of your Contributions, your use of the Services, your breach of these Terms or of the representations you made in them, or your infringement of a third party's rights.

We may, at your expense, assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter you are required to indemnify us for, and you agree to cooperate with our defence of it. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you of any such claim.

16Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of them or the Services are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Talk to us first

If something goes wrong, contact us at admin@tastevue.com before starting formal proceedings. Both of us agree to try, in good faith, to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days from that first written notice. Most problems are settled this way.

If that does not work

Any dispute not resolved informally will be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre ("SIAC") in accordance with its Rules in force at the time, which are taken to be incorporated by reference into this section. The seat of arbitration is Singapore, the tribunal is one arbitrator, and the language is English.

Either of us may instead bring a claim in the Small Claims Tribunals of Singapore where the claim falls within that tribunal's jurisdiction.

Limits

Proceedings are brought in an individual capacity only. There is no class, consolidated or representative arbitration, no joinder of another person's claim, and no arbitration brought in a representative capacity on behalf of the general public.

This section does not apply to a dispute about the enforcement, protection or validity of either party's intellectual property, to a claim of theft, piracy or unauthorised use, or to an application for injunctive relief. Either of us may bring those in the courts of Singapore, whose jurisdiction you submit to for that purpose.

A claim must be brought within one (1) year of the cause of action arising, or it is permanently barred.

17General

These Terms, together with any policies we publish on the Services, are the entire agreement between us. Supplemental terms or documents posted on the Services from time to time are incorporated by reference.

Our failure to exercise or enforce a right or provision does not waive it. If any provision is held unlawful, void or unenforceable, it is severed and the rest continues in full force.

We may assign our rights and obligations to another party at any time. Nothing in these Terms creates a joint venture, partnership, employment or agency relationship between us.

You consent to receiving notices, agreements and other records from us electronically, and to electronic signatures, deliveries and records satisfying any legal requirement for a written document. You waive any right requiring an original non-electronic signature.

These Terms are drafted in English, and the English version prevails over any translation.
