Merchant Privacy Notice
What we hold about you and your business when you use a TasteVue merchant account — and what we do not.
The short version. We hold your email, your business details, your outlet addresses and a record of your billing. We never see your full card number. We do not sell your data. Your listing is public; your personal contact details are not.
This notice is about your data. What you may do with your customers' data is in section 9 of the Merchant Agreement.
01Who and what this covers
This notice is for the people behind a TasteVue merchant account — owners, managers and staff who sign up on our website or use the merchant dashboard. It explains what we hold about you and your business.
It is not about your customers. What you may do with a member's details is a contractual obligation, set out in section 9 of the Merchant Agreement. What we do with members' data is in our member Privacy Policy.
Much of what we hold is business contact information, which Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act treats differently from personal data. We have written this notice to cover both rather than making you work out which is which.
02What we collect
When you create an account. Your email address, and a password if you did not sign in with Google or Apple. If you used one of those, we receive your email address and display name from them — never your password.
When you tell us about your restaurant. Your business name, the type of food you serve, your name as the contact person, your contact number and your outlet addresses.
When you save a payment method. Our payment processor collects and holds your card or bank details. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a reference to the saved method, and a record of charges, amounts and outcomes.
When you use the dashboard. Sign-in events, the pages you open, and the changes you make to your listing — we keep a record of listing edits so a change can be traced.
When you contact us. Whatever you send us, and our reply.
03Why we use it
- To create and run your merchant account and dashboard access.
- To build and maintain your listing, and to show it to members.
- To bill your subscription and deal with failed payments.
- To give you support, and to reach you about your account or an outlet.
- To keep the platform safe — spotting fraud, manipulated loyalty activity and misuse.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
We may also send you occasional emails about TasteVue features relevant to your business. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will; we will still send you the operational messages your account needs, such as a failed payment.
05What becomes public
Your listing is meant to be seen. Your business name, outlet addresses, opening hours, cuisine, description and the links you add are shown to members in the app and may appear in search engines.
Your personal contact details — your name as the contact person, your email and your phone number — are not published as part of your listing, unless you put them in a field that is public, such as a description or a WhatsApp link.
06How long we keep it
We keep your account and listing information while your account is open. After you leave, dashboard access ends as described in the Merchant Agreement, and we delete or anonymise what we no longer need.
Billing and tax records are kept for as long as Singapore law requires, which is longer than your account lasts. Records connected to fraud or a dispute are kept until the matter is closed.
07Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent to marketing email. Email admin@tastevue.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Some requests we cannot fully act on while your account is open or while the law requires us to keep a record — if that applies we will tell you why.
You can edit most of your own details yourself in the merchant dashboard, which is usually faster than asking us.
08Security
Access to your merchant data is restricted to your own account: the dashboard resolves what you may see from your login on every request, rather than trusting what your browser asks for.
Use a password you have not used elsewhere, or sign in with Google or Apple. Tell us at admin@tastevue.com straight away if you think someone else has your login, or if a staff member with dashboard access leaves.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the PDPC as the PDPA requires.
